Dar Ell Tari first started working for PT Saptaindra Sejati (SIS) at the Indo-Sangasanga jobsite in Kalimantan Timur, 7 years ago.  Her position as Engineering Group Leader meant she had very important responsibilities especially in terms of controlling operations, overseeing the execution of the mine design, and optimizing equipment productivity.

To Dar Ell Tari all of her tasks were equally important and she put the same amount of energy and enthusiasm into her work, day in and day out. The principle of meritocracy has been practiced at Adaro and its subsidiaries from the very beginning and Dar Ell Tari was quickly recognized for her excellent work performance. When a new opportunity opened up at the head office in Jakarta, Dar Ell Tari was offered the job and she moved to Jakarta, now focused on manpower development and ensuring that the right employees were being hired for the right positions.

Based in her new Jakarta SIS office, Dar Ell Tari developed employee planning, human resource quality control, and workshop implementation to support employee development especially in the advanced and continually developing technical requirements of SIS operations. She was excited when talking about the ‘early days’ of her new job and remembers that employee training sessions were always the most interesting. In this occasion she can meet her fellow partners working in sites and shares her knowledge with them.

“I feel rewarded when I can help others achieve their potential by maximizing their work performance through training.”

Dar Ell Tari has reputation as one of the respected workshop leaders. She is thankful for her strong educational background which she feels is a cornerstone to her success developing SIS employees.

“I know that I was very lucky to have access to a good education,” said the Bachelor of Gadjah Mada University graduate. “Mining world is dynamic where you have to adjust yourself with the actual condition and new development in mining sites. For this reason, I spent a lot of time studying,  building up significant knowledge that I can share with my fellow employees so they can perform best.  Studying is just never stops because SIS is a mining services company which covers a wide expanse of activities including engineering, production, plant, SHE, HR, PM, there is so much more to keep up to date with,“ explained Dar Ell Tari.

Today Dar Ell Tari remains as committed and as hard-working as the first day she started and while she is firmly focused on keeping employees up to date on all of the latest technologies and innovations, she has saved some extra passion for safety issues.

“SIS prioritizes safety as an organization and I not only believe in safety as a key to our professionalism but I take it to heart. At each step of the Pit to Power mining process we must keep safety at the top of our minds and it has become a part of the SIS culture. This includes being aware of the risks, analyzing possible risks, and mitigating risks.”

Dar Ell Tari is doing an excellent job developing human resources at SIS, and she feels rewarded when she helps others achieve their potential by maximizing their work performance.

With many employees like Dar Ell Tari it is no wonder that SIS has been able to maintain an outstanding zero accident rating in many of its key areas of operations over the years and has been recognized on numerous occasions by the government for its leadership in operational safety.
